Giclee is a French term literally meaning ‘sprayed ink’. It is a very high resolution digital print recognised as a fine art print in the same category like lithographs, etchings and silk-screen prints. Giclee is considered the world’s best technique for the reproduction of original works of art, for digitally created fine art and photographic imagery. Printed on real artist materials such as watercolour paper, artist canvas and photographic paper, giclee prints look and feel like original art and have a quality and intensity of colour that is unique to the medium. The permanence of an image is very important to artists and collectors. Giclee prints utilising permanent pigment inks and high-quality materials have a life expectancy of up to 200 years based on museum quality lighting.

All of our artist Limited Editions and Publishers Editions are giclee prints.

The other type of prints we offer are offset fine art prints. Printed on 170-210 gsm quality satin paper, offset printing, also called offset lithography, is a method of mass-production printing in which the images on metal plates are transferred (offset) to rubber blankets or rollers and then to the print media. The print media, usually paper, does not come into direct contact with the metal plates. The paper we use is far superior, and thicker to a poster, which is generally printed on 110-140 gsm gloss paper.
