DENOUEL, Alain

Alain Denouel is a multi-award winning French-Territorian air-brush artist, who won the Peoples Choice Award in 2001 for his Portrait of a Senior Territorian and again in 2005. He was a finalist in the 2005 Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize.

Alain trained and worked in Paris and at age 21 was invited to exhibit in the prestigious ‘Salon d’ Automne’, he illustrated for several French magazines including VSD.

Following a very nasty accident involving crashing through through a plate glass door while dancing, Alain faced the probability of not being able to use his right hand again. He travelled from Paris to the Australian Outback where he was inspired to return to painting. Based at Pine Creek in the Northern Territory of Australia, Alain is married to Amanda Ah Toy, a fourth generation ‘Top Ender’and they have a six year old son, Blaise.
