JONES, James Evan

Adelaide based James Evan Jones was born in Broken Hill in 1948. For 28 years he performed Australia wide as a professional singer/songwriter and television presenter. His composition ‘The Pushbike Song’ became a No 1 hit and sold over a million copies worldwide. James served in South Vietnam with the 5th Battalion RAR as an Intelligence Dutyman and Photographer.

In 1993 he returned to Broken Hill and then completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree. James utilises a variety of media including acrylic on paper or canvas, oil on canvas,pen and ink drawings as well as charcoal and pastel. Since 1994 James has been regularly exhibiting at the Horizon Gallery in Silverton, The Scotch College Fine Art Show, The Adelaide Central Gallery and many Rotary and Apex Art Shows.
