Description
ETERNITY – Arthur Malcolm Stace (1885-1967) – OFFSET PRINT – 50 x 35 cm
Stace would rise at 4 a.m., moving quietly through the streets of Sydney with a piece of chalk in hand. He wrote the single word “Eternity” on footpaths, doorsteps, railway station entrances, and anywhere else inspiration struck. By the time workers arrived in the city, the word would appear fresh and mysterious, yet its author unseen. Over time, the figure behind it became known as “the man who writes Eternity”, a legend woven into Sydney’s streets.
